Seems like a few people have a bone to pick with them, judging by all the similar comments. We’ve backed the Oldham event every year and even handed over our donation at one of the past shows. This year we’re a bit strapped for cash so can’t contribute, but glad to vouch for the great work they do.

Watch out for these pesky cold callers! They seem to ring incessantly, attempting to establish a rapport just to pry money from you. Stay vigilant!

Really can't trust them, kept ringing asking for cash and wouldn't give up. Then they have their team leave friendly messages to make it seem legit, but if they were genuine, why would they be cold calling for money? Totally shady. Those nice messages? They're from their own workers, don't fall for it. Never hand over any money to these lot.

This number has called me a few times now, with a woman asking for my manager by his full name. When he said he didn’t know her, it felt really strange. I asked where they found his details and she claimed they purchase info on businesses. I told her to remove our contact from their list and stop phoning us, but she said she’s not able to and promised they’d keep calling. So impolite! There ought to be stricter rules to stop these persistent cold callers from harassing people.

Had a chat with a woman from Circus Starr, she was calling about my application for tickets to the free circus for disabled children. She was really nice and very helpful! What an amazing thing they’re doing!

They’re putting on a local event and doing some fundraising. Really polite folks. I rang the venue and they said the event is definitely on, so I donated. They even explained how my son could get tickets for free. Can say for sure it’s not a scam.

WATCH OUT - NEVER SEND CASH! These scams are likely using low-paid workers to call you, begging for funds, then firing them if they can’t get your money. BE CAREFUL WITH THESE FIRMS, DON’T HAND OVER A PENNY - IT’S REALLY RISKY. Don’t trust their sob stories - it’s obvious the bosses are the ones pocketing all the cash.

Said they were from a charity but just ringing up random numbers they got online, asking for donations over the phone. How sketchy is that? Definitely block them and don’t give them a penny, no matter what. It’s not going to the cause they say it is, the people running it are just lining their own pockets. Completely unreliable.

I’ve been involved with this company for more than a decade. They’re signed up with the Fundraising Regulator and you can also check them out on Companies House where their financial details are available. Honestly, I don’t understand the bad reviews on here. They are totally legit and do a brilliant job.
