Steer clear of engaging! I just received a call from this number, purporting to be from BT, claiming there was an issue with my broadband connection. They inquired about the blinking lights on my hub, to which I replied there weren’t any. The caller insisted I perform a speed test on my computer. I told him I don’t possess a PC (though I do, I just knew he was trying to pull a fast one). He then suggested I use the device I was currently on to look up speed tests. I explained it was my home phone and was thus unable to access the internet. His response? Telling me to take the phone and… well, you can imagine. I asked him to clarify, convinced I must have misheard. He repeated it several times, just to be clear. I challenged him, saying, “How can you expect me to believe you represent BT with such disgraceful behaviour?” He promptly hung up. Quite the impolite individual, and his accent was notably foreign.
