Today, I received a rather alarming call from a chap with a strong foreign accent who claimed that my internet connection had been compromised. It's quite unnerving, really, as this appears to be a clever ruse; these sorts of scammers often have nefarious intentions and could potentially gain access to everything on my computer if I were to fall for their tricks. Quite a nasty piece of work, if you ask me!

Got a call from 01259 939 835 earlier today (14/1/22). There was some noise like maybe other people chatting in the background, but no one actually talked to me. I just told whoever it was to “bugger off” and hung up. It looks like this number is part of a bunch of scam calls that share similar digits.

Got a call from some scammer with an Asian accent, like the usual annoying ones. They claimed there was a security issue with my internet, but I don’t even have internet here. Told him to shove it and hung up.

Somebody rang me saying they were from o2, offering a discount on my call package. They sounded really legit, even mentioned my exact plan and email address. Then I got two texts, one asking for a code - which looked like real o2 messages. I told o2 about it, and they said their fraud team is now checking it out. Honestly, it feels like o2 must have a big data breach for these scammers to know all my plan stuff and create proper security codes. Pretty scary, so watch out folks!
