This number’s tried me a couple of times now, had to block it for good. It’s a shame how some people keep getting tricked by these scammers.

Total scam, best just to hang up or don't pick up at all!

I’ve been getting these annoying calls recently from recorded messages saying they're either from Openreach or BT, or sometimes that they’re calling on their behalf. The message always says my broadband and phone service will be disconnected within 24 hours if I don’t respond. Feels like some kind of scam to me, really frustrating!

Got a call from a bloke claiming to be from BT about my internet, but I’m actually with a different company. He insisted that BT also looked after my provider and that my broadband was at risk of being cut off. Said they'd send me a new router and wanted me to download something called alpemix from [#]. I told him I’d ring Virgin to confirm, then called him out as a scammer. Pretty sure he was an Asian chap. Watch out for this one!

These lot are a right pain in the arse, honestly fed up with all this rubbish. Didn't used to be like this a decade ago or so. Probably foreigners pulling the strings, if you ask me. Good on me for voting leave. Our government really needs to crack down on this mess now.

If you want, head over to the Action Fraud site and fill out their phishing survey. It’s just a few simple questions, no need to give any personal info. Basically, they ask when the call happened, what the caller was trying to do (you pick from options), and which number they used to ring you. Pretty straightforward!

Was just outside putting the washing out when I noticed my phone had a red light flashing. Thought it might be the delivery driver from Currys with my order, so I called the number back. Usually, I wouldn’t bother, but it just said “THIS NUMBER DOES EXIST”, which seemed odd. Why do these lot always go after older people anyway? It’s not right.

Got a robo call saying my internet would be disconnected unless I pressed 1 to speak to my internet company. When I did, a person said they were from BT, but that’s not my provider. They claimed my internet was slow because my computer was infected with loads of viruses. They told me to switch my PC on so they could guide me through fixing it. I just ended the call straight away.

My phone showed 01258969444 and it rang a few times but then just stopped, so I didn’t pick up. Looks like the code is for Blandford Forum or somewhere around there. I’ve got no clue who it was, whether a company or an individual, and can’t figure out why they’d call me. I don’t think I’ve had any contact with anyone from that place before. Bit odd, if you ask me.
