Got a call but no voicemail left. Looked up the number here and saw it’s a known BT scam. Had a similar call yesterday but that time it came from a mobile claiming to be 'BT Openreach' - the voice sounded like someone from the Indian sub-continent.

Received a call at precisely 11:25 on the 2nd of August, 2020, from a rather posh-sounding recorded voice, rather akin to those BT messages, declaring an issue with my broadband connection. Shortly afterwards, I found myself speaking to someone with a distinct Indian accent who insisted that my broadband was riddled with viruses and some rather nasty ransomware. Curious, I inquired about my internet service provider, to which he wrongly claimed it was Virgin. At that point, I decided it was best to end the conversation and hang up.

Had loads of dodgy calls on my landline lately. Best thing to do is just ignore them, maybe block the number and let your phone company know about it. Don’t waste time answering!

Like a lot of folks here, I got a recorded call saying to press 1 to chat with a broadband expert. It actually sounded quite legit and nearly had me fooled. The message warned me some dodgy trojan virus was threatening my router password. I searched the number online and came across this site. My internet company confirmed it’s a scam too. Planning to report the number to BT. I'm based in Worthing, West Sussex.

Just got a robo call from this number claiming my internet was hacked and told me to press 1 to chat with an agent. As soon as I heard that, I ended the call straight away. Seriously, why isn't there some official police or government agency we can report stuff like this to?

Once more, I found myself on the receiving end of one of those calls. Honestly, these con artists seem relentless! They rang me up again, spouting the same old tale about my internet service and insisting that I must heed their advice to keep it intact. I didn’t hold back and told them where to go!

I just got a call where they said my router was attacked or something, and I needed to press 1 to talk to support. Definitely a scam! Stay clear!

Total scam, these lot barely spoke English. They kept asking for my router info, so I asked for theirs instead just to mess about. Honestly, why can't these muppets be blocked properly? I've got call protect on and it does next to nothing.

Got a call from 01258963147, some bloke claiming my computer's got malware or something, said they'd change my router password. Sounds like a dodgy hacker to me.

Got a call from BT Openreach about my internet and router saying "Hello Dennis, how’s it going?" then just cut the line. I never even reported any problems with my connection or router. Sounds like yet another scam to me.

Got a recorded message claiming my router had ransomware and I needed to change my password, supposedly from my internet provider. It sounded totally dodgy. Don’t waste your time - block them straight away or, if you're with BT, dial 1572 and add the number to your blacklist.

I got a call from someone saying they were working for my internet provider and wanted to ‘reset the router password.’ From what I gathered, it sounded a bit dodgy to me. I don’t think they were legit at all - definitely sounds like a scam to me. No way they’re any proper ISP.
