Just a heads up about washing machine warranties. This feels like a total scam, just trying to get your money. Oddly, they knew my name, even though it has nothing to do with my washing machine. Just got another call from this number. The guy said his name was Frederick and sounded like he had a strong (Indian?) accent. Mentioned he was from something like General and Domestic. Couldn’t catch the company name last time this number rang me. He wanted to talk about extending the warranty on our washing machine. When I rang Dorset Trading Standards, I was shocked they said the public can’t speak to local Trading Standards anymore and get passed to some VOLUNTARY group called the "Consumer Helpline Team" on 0808 223 1133. Do politicians even care about keeping us safe from scammers??? Looks like I’ll be emailing the national papers and MPs about this!!!

Got a call about renewing washing machine insurance, they said they wanted to arrange a direct debit. They had my name and address but asked for my birth date, which I refused to give. They also wanted my bank details. When I asked when my insurance ended, they said last week. Thing is, I never had any coverage, so I asked how it could be expired. Then they asked if I wanted to get insurance, I said no and they just hung up. The caller had a foreign accent. Funny enough, the same number phoned me this morning too, but if you don’t pick up, they don’t leave a voicemail.

Twice this week ive had calls pretending to be about my washing machine. They kept saying it was a General Electric, but mine aint that brand. I was right in the middle of a workout class and wasnt having any of it, gave them a pretty cold response.

Got a call again from 01258789654 saying they were from Domestic and General about some washing machine warranty. This is the second time today and honestly, they really should just stop bothering me.

Got a random call from a guy with a heavy South Asian accent, sounded like his English was rubbish. Claimed he was ringing from ‘Domestic & General’ to tell me my washing machine warranty had run out. Typical cold call from some dodgy spam centre abroad. Just ended the call and added the number to my block list. Don’t bother answering!

Picked up the phone but the person on the other end just ended the call. I’ve blocked it now, though there’s been a bunch of numbers nearly like it ringing me all week. Usually, when I answer, there’s silence or they just cut off right away.
