Honestly, the authorities really need to step up and take action against these companies. They’re nothing but con artists and deserve way harsher penalties. It’s so frustrating getting calls from them, only to realise it’s a complete waste of my time.

Got a recorded call saying it was from 'TalkTalk', repeating the usual scam lines about my internet being hacked and telling me to press 11. Thing is, I don’t even have TalkTalk as my provider, so that kinda gave it away right there. If you get anything like that automated and from a company you’re not with, just hang up and block the number straight away. Would be great if dealing with these scammers was as simple as dialling a number and sending the authorities to sort them out!

Some bloke rang claiming to be from my internet company, but when I asked him who my provider was, he went all over the place, naming BT and loads of others. It was pretty funny, actually. I told him he’d be better off getting a proper job since he was rubbish at pretending to be a scammer.

Got a call from someone with a strong Indian accent claiming to be from VISA. Asked me for my card details and recent transactions, said it was to verify my account. Spoke really broken English and sounded like he was reading from a script, didn’t answer properly when I tried throwing him off with tricky questions. Ended the call abruptly when I told him straight up it was a scam.

If BT know about these calls using their name, they really ought to do something to prevent older folks from getting tricked. The government should really step in and put a stop to these dodgy scams.
