Got a call from a woman called Helen (?!?!) who said she was from British Gas. She asked if I was with British Das or if I’d switched to Scottish Power recently. When I answered ‘I dunno,’ she just hung up on me. Still not sure what this new scam was about, but it’s definitely got me curious.

Got a call from this number, bloke with an Asian accent said he was Sean from Lloyds TSB. He asked for me by name but then got my postcode wrong. When I asked what the call was about, he just ended the call. Be careful, don’t share any info with them. Legit banks won’t ask for personal stuff like that on the phone.

yeah this just happened to me as well. some bloke with an Asian accent called, said he was from Barclays and asked if i could do a quick survey about my banking with them. I told him if he was really from Barclays, he’d already know the answer, then he just ended the call! absolute scumbags, i'm proper annoyed!!!

I gave it a go and it was really simple to get the hang of. I just found the calls from that number and hit BLOCK THIS NUMBER. Sorted now, and I’m not getting any more annoying calls from them.

Got a call from an Asian bloke saying he’s sending forms for a PPI claim, I told him I’m not involved, and he just hung up. I’m ready for the next lot now. These are definitely scammers. Just give them fake details, and they’ll lose interest pretty quick.

Some bloke with a really heavy Asian accent called, asking for me but used my maiden name and mentioned my old postcode from about 8 years back when I moved. Then they wanted my current postcode. When I asked what it was about and who they were, all they did was keep pressing for my new postcode! I just ended the call!

Got a call from an Asian bloke claiming he had my paperwork ready for some PPI claim. I normally cut him off straight away, saying I’ve never had PPI, but this time I just let him carry on talking. He even went and confirmed my postcode as my old address (I moved away back in 2011, and that postcode doesn’t even exist now ‘cause the houses got demolished). Pretty cheeky if you ask me! Anyway, he’s called back two more times but I ignored it.

This bloke’s been ringing me the past few days, today I picked up without looking it up first. He had a thick Asian accent and said he was calling from Lloyds bank. I said I don’t have an account with Lloyds, and he goes, I’m not trying to sell you anything, then he read out my postcode. When I asked where he got my details from, he just hung up. I’ve contacted Lloyds myself to let them know about this number pretending to be from the bank.

This looks like a fake number. BT's 1471 told me "We do not have the caller's number" but BT Call Protect did show it. I left it ringing for a while and it kept going, so I reckon it's one of those calls where no-one actually picks up until you answer. Most likely a scam, whoever it is.
