Today I think this number has rung me about 13 times. Whenever I pick up, it’s just silence, and they never leave any sort of message. Very odd.

Between around midday and 7 in the evening, this number called me four times. Each time, there was just silence, no one said anything, then after about a minute it would just hang up and give me the dial tone. Ive added 01258268572 to my phone’s block list now so hopefully it stops.

Got a call from someone pretending to be the TPS, telling me I needed to pay to keep blocking cold calls. I told them 'No way!' very clearly and ended the call straight away. That number is definitely blocked now.

Someone called pretending to be from Telephone Preference Management Services, and my wife answered it. They asked if we were still receiving annoying calls. About half an hour ago, we got a call from someone who knew my name and address, even though the BT account is under my husband’s name. He claimed he was ringing from the TPS and asked if we were still getting nuisance calls. The voice definitely had an accent and it sounded like it was coming from abroad. Then he said I’d have to pay to keep using the “free” service, which I wasn’t having any of, so I just hung up. This same number had been calling us several times earlier this morning as well.

Then out of the blue he started asking for my bank card expiry date, saying there was a £21 charge for it. I questioned why he needed my details and then he just ended the call. Felt a bit dodgy to me.

The bloke said his name was David and asked if I was still bothered by nuisance calls. I told him yes, and that he was one of them, then said goodbye. He kept yabbering as I hung up. I've gone ahead and blocked the number now.
