I picked up but there was nobody on the other end.

There was a bit of silence before someone finally spoke. A woman asked me 'how are you?' and I just replied with 'what's this about?' She then said she was calling from a company that does cavity wall insulation. I told her I wasn’t interested, hung up, and then blocked the caller by dialling 1572.
