Not long ago, I got a call from this number purporting to be from The Pension Service. Today, the same number rang again, this time a woman on the line identified herself as being from the National Life Insurance Database and requested to speak with my wife. Quite suspicious, I must say!

I received a phone call earlier today about a private pension, which is rather peculiar since I've never had one. I decided to hang up as it was suspicious. What struck me as particularly unsettling was that the caller seemed to have my first and last name.

Had a rather lengthy conversation today - over ten minutes, if I’m honest. The chap on the other end seemed a tad agitated and impatient as I probed into their source of information and validity. Despite his irritation, he eventually conceded to my scepticism. I mentioned being on the Telephone Preference Service for quite a number of years. His reply? I apparently had to renew my TPS registration every year, which I hadn't done, leading him to assert that my TPS registration was no longer deemed valid. However, he did promise to remove my information from their company's database. Fast forward to now, I’ve taken the liberty of double-checking the TPS website, and lo and behold, my number is still listed there. Quite amusingly, it turns out there's absolutely no obligation for me as an individual to re-register on an annual basis!

I received a rather unexpected call from this number at 11:15 this morning (22/08/16). The caller, a woman, used my first name as if we were already acquainted, which really irked me. It felt rather deceitful to approach me in that manner just to grab my attention! Feeling quite irritated, I decided to call back shortly after and requested to speak to a manager. They swiftly connected me to a gentleman who addressed me by my last name instead. I was curious how he managed to know who I was and he explained that my name and number appeared on their system. I didn't hold back in expressing my annoyance about the unsolicited call and the overly familiar way I had been spoken to. I insisted they remove my name from their contact list, and he guaranteed me that it has now been sorted.
