He called saying he was with telephone management, and as soon as I replied 'oh yes', he just ended the call! Pretty obvious that it was another scam.

I ignored the call but looked up the number on 1471. No one I know is linked to it, and judging by what others have said, it’s definitely a scam, probably from somewhere in the subcontinent. Often, after this, you get a call from someone claiming to be from the "BT Technical Department" - which is totally fake. If you do pick up and hear that, quickly dial 1572 and block the number from calling again.

I got a call from an Asian bloke who just said his name and then paused, like waiting for me to talk. Then he said something about it being a bank holiday in the UK, which seemed really odd, so I just ended the call. A few days ago, I had someone telling me they could help stop nuisance calls, so maybe this was along the same lines. Honestly, someone really needs to put a stop to these types of calls.

Got a call from a guy, sounded Asian and had a really thick accent. He was trying to sell me something but I couldn't catch it all. Told him to message me if it was really urgent.

Got a call early this morning, about 10:30, from a bloke who sounded asian and said his name was ryan - bit odd for the accent, if you ask me. The usual kind of thing, i didn’t even wait to hear the whole story, just quickly hung up. Honestly, if you get a call from these sorts, best just to hang up straight away.

Got a call from an Asian guy named Ryan, said he was ringing on behalf of the Telephone Preference Service. His spiel was that even though I’m on the TPS list, unwanted calls were still coming through. I decided to mess with him a bit and told him I hadn’t had a single unwanted call since joining TPS! That totally threw him off, he stuttered a bit and then just hung up. Seems like he wasn’t prepared for that reply!

Got a call earlier today about 8:15 am from a woman who claimed there was something wrong with my computer. She told me to press 1 to talk to a tech expert. I just hung up straight away.

Please don’t share any personal details with these callers, they ring me loads of times daily. Stay careful and don’t pick up or reply!

Some bloke with an Asian accent called me, said he knew my name and wanted to help block annoying calls. I said fine, but then he asked for my card expiry date. I told him there’s no way I’m giving out card info to a random cold caller, and he just ended the call.

Don’t trust this call at all. They claim to be from TPS but they're actually trying to steal your money straight from your bank account. Definitely a scam!

This number just rang me up, and some bloke with an Asian accent said he was from telephone preference management. He already had my name and address, then wanted the number on my card. I told him there's no way I'm handing that over. I might be old, but I'm no mug. Ended the call right there. Seriously thinking of getting a whistle - next time they ring, they'll get a proper blast. Got a call off this number earlier, some bloke with an Asian accent claiming he was from the telephone preference scheme. Knew my full name and where I lived, then went on asking for the number on my card. I told him no way am I giving that out. I’m old enough not to fall for tricks like that. Just got a call at about 3:45 this afternoon, they asked if it was me. I said yes without thinking, and was about to crack a joke like “Sure, I can be that person if you fancy, love” but they cut me off and hung up straight away. Got a ring from this number, the person said they were from the TPS and wanted to sell me their service to stop spam calls. I told them that I considered this a cold call trying to sell me something. Got a call at about 8:15 in the morning, could hear a busy call centre noise in the back. This bloke with an Asian accent asked if I was the owner of the line. I had a laugh and said, "Oh no, I just answered a phone that happened to ring, didn’t think much of it!" He seemed to get it right away and just cut the call.

Got a call at 3.09pm from someone who spoke really slowly and stuttered while trying to check the person they wanted. The voice sounded a bit echoey. I could hear distant chatter like it was from a call centre, plus some automated woman’s voice in the background. I hesitated a bit before answering, and then they just cut me off. Bit disappointing since I was just about to tell them they’d reached my local police station.
