I received a call today from a number associated with Newlands Medical Centre, and they left a message asking me to return their call. This isn't my first encounter with them; I've been receiving similar calls for the past five years. Each time, they claim to be putting together booklets for a school, charity, or emergency service, supposedly to distribute at an Open Day. The catch is that they pressure you into coughing up between £100 to £200 for an advertisement that will share space with around 100 other businesses. Once you pay, they send you a copy of the brochure showcasing your ad. However, the scam is revealed when you discover that they only print a limited run of 100 brochures, exclusively for those who paid to advertise. The general public never sees it, and neither does the school or charity benefit from any of this. It's a total ruse!
