I got a call from a recorded voice claiming to be Emily from British Telecom, saying my internet was hacked or something. She told me to press 1 to chat with a tech, but obviously I didn’t. They just ended the call on their side. I put the phone on speaker and left it alone while I looked them up and wrote this. After a few minutes, I began hearing clicking noises, like they couldn’t make another call because I hadn’t hung up. By the fourth minute, my phone started making that annoying beep that happens when the handset isn’t back properly.
