I received a call from someone who said they were contacting me "on behalf of" a law firm, discussing a plan to eliminate 80% of my debts. They mentioned they got my details from a so-called "public source." Even though I kindly informed them that we are registered with the Telephone Preference Service, it seemed to make no difference whatsoever. Quite the persistent lot, they are!
