A guy with an Asian accent called me, and he already had my name, address, birthday, and obviously my number. He said it was about a PPI claim that had gone through. I went along with it and confirmed everything he said was right. It seemed alright until I asked where he was calling from, then he just hung up. I had already searched his number online and knew it was a scam. I’m guessing they’re after my bank details so they can funnel the fake PPI money into my account. I don’t think they’ll trick me though. Definitely a scam, and could be risky if you’re not careful.

They rang my elderly father-in-law and, just like others mentioned, gave his name and address. Then they asked for his date of birth, but he wouldn't give it. They claimed it was to do with a big payout from some PPI claim. He got suspicious straight away and, being a tough Essex lad at 96, he told them to jog on.

Got a call from someone saying they were with the ombudsman board about my PPI claim. They seemed to know my info but then told me I had to put money into a tax free investment, like a life insurance policy or something, to get my claim. They even said I could just renew my existing policy... like, seriously!!!

Just got a call from someone about PPI, claiming I’m owed over £2,000. They knew my name and address which was creepy. This time it was a lady speaking with an Asian accent. Let her chat for a bit until she asked for my date of birth. That’s when I’d had enough and told her straight, “Do you take me for a mug? F### off.” These lot are just scamming people and honestly, all they get from me is abuse.

Got a call from 01257 221228 earlier. They started off by using my first name and asking if I was having a good day, which I found a bit odd. I told them to remove my number from their list and not to ring me again. The person then went off on me, saying "I'm not your f###ing servant!" I tried to explain that I hadn’t asked for the call, so there was no excuse for the rude behaviour, but he just kept repeating that nasty line. I’ll be blocking the number for sure and looking into how to report this guy.
