Somebody phoned up pretending to be from BT Openreach - which is a dead giveaway cause they stopped using that name yonks ago. So, on a Bank Holiday, the caller said they were fixing issues and said my internet was super slow, but couldn’t actually say what the problem was. They wanted me to go online so they could "help" me check it out... which sounded like a setup to get me to install Teamviewer so they could mess around on my computer remotely. I saw this trick mentioned on the BT site itself.

Received a call from someone claiming to be from BT Openreach today. They insisted that I should switch my computer on so they could access it remotely. I'm convinced this is a scam, no question about it!
