This is the third day in a row that this number has been ringing me. I’ve been close to my phone the last couple of times and saw the number pop up, so I just ignored it knowing it was dodgy. But this morning I was actually on the landline and felt I should pick up in case it was someone I know. The second I heard the noise in the background I figured it was one of those scam call centres and just kept saying “hello?” till they gave up and hung up.

A gentleman of South Asian descent reached out to me, under the impression that he was speaking with Mrs. X.Y. (which was indeed accurate). I pressed 2 just to check, and it said it was putting me through but then went silent and cut off after about half a minute. Proper scam, nothing like how Amazon usually deals with things. I received a call claiming to be from Amazon regarding a supposed deduction of £1,000 from my bank account. If this isn't right, they prompt you to press 1 to chat with a representative. However, I can assure you, that representative is nothing but a fraudster! Make sure to verify your bank records-there's no such transaction. They're out to get your credit card details, so be cautious!
