Got a call from someone called Jonathan Ledger - not sure that’s his real name - claiming to be from Hawton financial services. They were on about some time share debts and kept pushing really hard, which felt more like a scam to me. Tried calling the numbers they gave, but none of them went through. Properly sketchy and quite intimidating stuff.

I just ended the call straight away. Then they rang back a couple more times and left some really unpleasant messages on my voicemail. Not impressed!

When I rang it, it just played some music and then the line cut off. The number I saw when she phoned me was 00 346 0338 5881. Seems dodgy to me.

I got a call at work from someone asking about this company, looks like the European Debt Recovery lot have started sending out letters and using the address of our serviced office as theirs. They’re definitely not based in our building in Aldershot. We’re just small local businesses here. I rang the number on the letter the bloke gave me and spoke to a woman named Suzanne, who picked up straight away but said their computers were having issues.

Received a rather dubious call today from an outfit claiming to be the European Debt Agency, alleging that I owed money on a timeshare with Hilton. It’s all nonsense, as I definitely don’t have any debts of that nature. I made it clear to the caller that I'd looked into another timeshare company that had reached out to me and found they weren’t even registered on Companies House; I planned to do the same with them. He swiftly wrapped up the conversation, commending my diligence and saying he’d relay my feedback, likely expecting I wouldn’t hear anything further. After a quick search, I’ve discovered that this supposed company in Basingstoke, Hampshire, is nowhere to be found. Clearly a scam! I've blocked the number.

On the 22nd of June, 2023, I had an encounter with a chap by the name of "Jonathan Clark", though I suspect that might not be his actual moniker. He claimed to be with the European Debt Recovery Service hailing from Basingstoke, a place I’ve tried unsuccessfully to find any mention of online. This fellow informed me that a European Payment Order had been filed against me regarding timeshare debts that allegedly date back over four years. I reassured him that I’ve always been diligent with my payments, to which he said he would dig a bit deeper and revert back to me. However, I’ve yet to hear anything more from him.

Apparently, their legal team will be in touch soon. I didn’t divulge any personal details during the conversation and advised them to send any correspondence via post instead. I had a couple of rather alarming calls from these con artists claiming I owe cash to some timeshare outfit. Their tone was downright disrespectful, and they resorted to intimidation tactics throughout our chat. They went on about sending debt collectors after me and how they’d come to take my possessions. What a pathetic joke! Honestly, they should find something worthwhile to do with their lives instead of pestering folks like this!

Got a call saying there was some European warrant out for unpaid Club La Costa fees and I had to settle up. Told them we ended our membership with CLC about 7 years back and even have proof we’re free from any fees, but they claimed the debt was passed on and still owed. Ended the chat right there. We actually were part of a club at one point (not that one), but we left it about a year ago, so we definitely don’t owe anything - I even checked my credit recently to be sure. She sounded like she was trying to get info out of me, and when I asked her for details, she just hung up. Feels like a scam to me.

I let the call go to voicemail and then this robotic voice came on saying there was some dodgy activity on my credit card linked to a gambling website in the US, about £100 worth. It said the payment’s on hold and if I want to talk to the fraud department, I should press 4. They didn’t actually say which bank they were from.
