01256586057 Summary (Read all comments)

Phone number ☎️ 01256586057 👆 is reported as a sophisticated scam where callers claim you’re owed thousands in PPI or finance mis-selling refunds, often around £4,000-£5,000. They insist you pay a £100-£200 voucher or “passage card” fee upfront before a courier, usually a woman with various names, will deliver a cheque. The callers sometimes have Indian accents and use fake company names and references. They pressure for quick payment and call back repeatedly. Many victims spot the scam due to inconsistencies and unrealistic promises of cash being left at the door, and some try to waste the scammers’ time. This method appears widespread and persistent, preying on people hopeful about genuine claims.

I just got a call from some guy named Peter Murphy, but his accent was so bad, sounded Indian or something! He was going on about some cheque I supposedly have waiting for £5879. Then he started talking about this £100 voucher I had to get, gave me a postcode for the closest shop, mentioned a delivery person and all that jazz. What a load of rubbish!

My partner got a call a little while ago from a firm named Claim Spec, and shortly after, an email arrived saying he was owed £5879 for some mis-sold PPI. To get the payment, they said he had to purchase a voucher from the local Londis shop, and the caller even gave him the postcode of the shop, which seemed strange. He told them to stop calling him straight away and then reported the whole thing to [email protected].

I just got the same deal from this guy Robert James. Apparently, some woman named Jylria Newman was supposed to handle the delivery.

Been told there’s a PPI refund of 4,077, but I need to pay £100 first for some kind of transit card before they'll send the cheque. Seems a bit dodgy to me.

Got a ring last Friday from some bloke claiming I was owed £4777 from a PPI claim. I could tell it was a load of rubbish, so I just played along and said I'd call back on Monday for more info. Today, another fella named Deven Shaw called, saying a Lyn Thompson would personally bring the cheque to my place, but first I need to buy a £100 Paysafe voucher and give him the 16-digit code before Lyn shows up. Honestly, these scammers are pathetic - how can anyone fall for this rubbish? They must reckon everyone is daft.

Some bloke called me earlier, either Jake or Jack Simpson, telling me I’m due £4777 from a PPI claim. Then this Lisa Williams is meant to drop off the cheque, but she said I gotta buy a £100 paysafe card first, and, get this, she’d give me £100 back afterwards! Claims it’s some government scheme or something. I told him my PPI claim already got rejected by the ombudsman, but he reckoned the government’s cracking down on all these cases now. The call came through on my mobile, but the number was a landline - 01256 586057.

Somebody rang saying they were from the FCA, said I’d get a cheque for over £5,000 from a PPI claim, and that they’d post it to me. Sounded dodgy to me.

Haven't been asked for any money so far, but I'm planning to ring them back tomorrow. They said something about sending a cheque for over £4000, but I didn't pay much attention at first. Might just keep going with it to waste their time and maybe stop someone else from falling for it.

Just happened to my dad too, they said he had a ppi claim worth £4295 then rang back asking for £200 ‘right now’ before they could sort anything.

Pretty much the same, this woman named Janet called me, then later a guy named 'Jason Spencer' rings back, sounding Indian. Honestly, when have you ever heard an Indian family name their kid Jason? Also, number 4295 popped up again, linked to PPI and a £200 charge.

I got told I’d be sent a cheque for £4295 too, but this one’s for PPI from some place called Financial Claims Department. I had a chat with an Asian lady named 'Janet' who asked for my info. I fed her a bunch of nonsense. She then mentioned that her manager would ring back later to sort out the cheque delivery. I’m planning to mess about with them as much as I can when they call back :)

Got a call on this number yesterday saying I was due a refund for mis-sold car finance, which would arrive at my address on Oct 2nd as a cheque for £4,295. But then he wanted me to pay £200 upfront before sending it. I told him he was a con artist and he just said he didn’t want to speak to me anymore and hung up. Just want to warn others. He claimed the firm was Daves Hart Co Ltd, gave me a claim reference and reg number - but that company doesn’t exist. He had all my details apart from my bank info. Now I’m waiting to hear back from a real solicitor about a proper claim.
