Got a call from someone saying they were conducting a government survey about phone use in our area and asked me to verify our business address. I told him if he managed to get our number to call out of the blue, he’d surely know where we are anyway. He started pushing really hard after that, even when I said we were busy and not interested, kept interrupting me and going on. I ended up hanging up, but he hasn't stopped ringing back nonstop since. Feels like proper harassment to me.

Told him we never agreed to anything and to just delete our details, but he turned really rude. Asked for his name so I could complain, but he wouldn’t tell me. Tried getting his manager’s name and number too, and he flat out refused. Proper unpleasant experience.

They said they were carrying out "the national telecoms survey" for the government and claimed to be a not-for-profit group. But when I asked what they planned to do with the info, they just refused to give a straight answer. They couldn’t tell me which government department they were working with either. Tried looking up their company name and found nothing, which seemed odd. When I questioned them more, they got pretty defensive and didn’t really answer properly. Also, they gave me the wrong address for my own business! Very dodgy all round.
