I had a call from someone claiming to be with the Telephone Preference Service saying they were calling to update me on some changes. They even mentioned my name and where I live, which was a bit troubling. Things got dodgy when they wanted to know if I was still using the same debit card to pay my phone bill. I asked why that mattered and they seemed pretty annoyed. Next thing, they just ended the call. I looked into it after and apparently, the Telephone Preference Service doesn’t actually call people out of the blue like that. Smells like a scam to me.
