I was lying in bed and missed the call coz I'm deaf and wear hearing aids, so I can't really hear the phone ring. I do have this device that makes it louder but then the whole street ends up hearing it! I'm battling cancer atm, so you'd think phone firms might do something about these annoying calls. Got a call early morning from some guy with an Indian accent who said his name was John. He claimed I’d won a £25 voucher, but I just said no thanks and hung up. Looks like another one of those dodgy scam calls!

Some guy with an Asian accent called, wanted to talk to the person who owns this number. I told him 'this is me' and he just hung up straight away. I quickly blocked the number through BT Call Protect after that.

Got a call from a really chipper bloke with an Asian accent, said he was ringing from some supermarket I'd never even come across. Claimed he wasn't trying to sell anything. When I refused to give my name, he just hung up. What really bugs me is how he even knew my name in the first place.

My phone's call blocking app, which also watches over my landlines, showed a call from this number earlier but when I dialled 1471 to check, there was no record of any call at 14:14 today. I got a call from 1471 but couldn’t answer 'cos I have a call blocker on my phone. Tried calling it back from my mobile and it just didn’t go through, said number not recognised. Looks like the area code is from Basingstoke, Hampshire. Reading other comments, seems like this number’s being used for dodgy stuff, probably some kind of scam. Honestly, this number should be reported properly to the fraud team or whoever deals with that, so they can sort it out and stop whoever’s behind it.

Each time, they give a different name like Jack, Jim or Tom, probably to trick you into chatting. But as soon as I ask them to identify Benefits UK properly, they just hang up straight away. Pretty clear that it’s some kind of scam, don’t waste your time.

Had another call from a woman with not an English accent, going on about "benefits uki" once more. Seriously, I wish they'd get back to the usual rubbish like “your internet’s been hacked”, “you’re facing arrest” or even that ridiculous “washing machine insurance” scam. Got a call from this number claiming to be from Benefits UK, asking a few questions. This isn’t the first time I’ve dealt with them, so I’d already blocked their previous number. I told the caller I wasn’t interested and reminded him that under GDPR I have the right to have my info deleted, which he needs to do. He kept trying to cut me off, but I made sure to say what I wanted before hanging up. I've just blocked this number as well, though I doubt that’ll stop them from calling back.
