The caller said they were from my bank’s security team, asking about two payments: one for £300 to Amazon and another international transfer over £1000. They told me to press "2" to talk about stopping the payments or sort out any problems. They never said which bank they were from or confirmed if I was the account holder. So, I chose to just ignore it. The call showed up with 01256, which is a Basingstoke area code - same place I live - so it seemed legit at first. I looked up the number 01256325908 and nothing popped up about any bank, just that it’s a landline in Basingstoke.
