It seemed like a genuine call at first, but once they began probing for my card information, it was obvious it was a scam.

I received a bothersome call that claimed to be from the 'security team' of my bank, alleging that my card had been hit with transactions of £300 to Amazon and a whopping £1100 for an overseas transfer. However, it turned out to be a pre-recorded message that didn’t mention my bank's name or even bother to confirm my identity. Clearly a dodgy scam, most probably designed to mislead.
