Got a call from 01256000027 today. I tried to call 1471 to check, then rang the number back myself but no luck - just silence like the line was dead. How do they manage to fake a local number though? I thought 01256 was definitely for Basingstoke area!

somebody rang me saying they were from bt about an issue with my internet.i told them everything was working okay and then i just hung up on them

Got a call from someone claiming to be TalkTalk internet support but it was totally fake. Don't fall for it!
