At around 10:15 this morning, a call came through from 01255 256022 to my elderly parents in Norfolk. Somehow, they convinced my dad to let them get access to his computer. He’s since contacted his local bank, and they mentioned they had received about ten alerts just within the past hour.

Got a call from 01255 256022, some Asian woman named Christine or maybe Christina, can't be sure. She claimed to be from Virgin Media, saying someone was trying to hack our internet or router. She asked me to check how many lights were blinking on the device. I told her I couldn’t check at the moment and ended the call. Honestly, the phone companies really need to step up and find a way to block these sorts of calls.

I got two calls from the number 01255256022 as well. The first one was about 40 minutes ago, some Asian guy was talking but I couldn’t make out what he was saying properly, something about btinternet. Since I don’t use BT, I just said I was fine with my internet and ended the call. Then about 15 minutes later, the same number rang me again but when I answered with hello, they just hung up. Also, just now I had a call from William on 01211177823, he said he was with BT or something, but I told him it was nonsense and cut him off.

Got a ring not long ago from some guy named “Alex”, sounded Asian, saying he’s from BT Openreach about my broadband problem. I find these calls quite entertaining, so I decided to confuse him a bit. Kept asking who my provider was and whose name the account was under. Suddenly, the call went dead silent. Guess he wasn’t really interested in chatting after all!

Today, Saturday 16/2/2019, I got a call from someone saying they were with BT Openreach, telling me my modem was faulty and to switch it on. The voice sounded Asian. When I asked for their ID to verify since I hadn’t noticed any issues, they just hung up on me. Total scam. The phone number actually belongs to Alliance Transport in Clacton-on-Sea. Seems their line’s been hacked because the caller definitely wasn’t in the UK. Best thing is just to ignore and end the call straight away.
