I received a rather dubious automated call today purporting to be from Amazon Prime. They claimed that my subscription was about to be renewed at a staggering £79.99 a month. They urged me to press a button if I fancied chatting with one of their 'advisers' to sort the so-called auto-renewal. It soon became clear that these tricksters were keen to extract my personal information under the guise of cancelling this supposedly automatic fee. Apparently, with the details they'd gathered, they were up to no good, attempting to procure high-end gadgets like iPhones and laptops on dodgy sites. I strongly recommend steering clear of these con artists!
