Some woman rang me claiming she was calling from ‘the amazon’ or something like that. Then she started going on about someone trying to buy an iPhone 7 using my hacked account. I mean, why on earth would they bother with an iPhone 7? That’s ancient! I just told her to shove off.

I answered the phone and the bloke on the line sounded proper dodgy, like one of those scammy cold callers from India. Right off the bat, instead of asking for me by name, he just said “Who am I speaking to?”, which made me suspicious straight away. He then tried to get me to give him some personal details. When I pushed him a bit more about who he actually was, he just ended up hanging up on me.

These home rescue folks are relentless, I swear. They kept ringing me up like 7 times a day, no joke, and even dragged on over the weekend. Their sales team is super pushy, so I ended up having to block their numbers just to get some peace.

I've been getting calls non-stop from this number, which turns out to be from a home rescue insurance company. They’re really pushy and won’t let you cancel any of their plans easily. When I tried to drop my boiler cover after selling my old house - especially since my new place already came with a two-year warranty - they kept ringing me up, pestering me to sign up for new insurance linked to my current home. It’s like they won’t give up until you buy something else from them.
