Got a call from someone claiming to be a BT engineer saying there was a spike on the landline. They asked for account holder info but it felt dodgy. The caller spoke really poor English and sounded like they were from abroad. When I asked more about the call, they suddenly hung up. Definitely a scam and a fraud attempt. Been getting annoying calls from numbers like 0159 333 9452, and I think the same crooks also ring from 0125 487 9945. Watch out, these are shady folks.

They first claimed to be from BT, but the moment I told them I didn’t work with BT, they switched to saying they were from Virgin Media and then just hung up.

Heads up everyone! Just got a call from a dodgy number pretending to be BT, saying my internet was at risk. They tried to trick me into letting them into my computer - really shady stuff. Make sure you watch out for this sort of scam! Stay safe!

Got a call from someone saying they were Virgin Media, claiming to sort out my internet as they supposedly supply everyone else’s too! They said my connection was infected with a virus, but when I asked for my IP address, he refused to tell me saying he’d get sacked. I got fed up and ended the call, but then they rang me again!

I got a call claiming to be Virgin Media, saying my internet had been hacked or something dodgy was going on. They tried to pull a scam. But when I checked with Virgin myself, they told me everything’s fine with my connection, no hacks or anything fishy happening. Pretty sure it was just a scam call.

They called claiming to be from BT Openreach, but just as quickly as they started talking, they hung up.

total scam, avoid talking to them at all costs. they claim to be bt openreach but it’s not true. i don’t even have an account with them, yet they keep insisting i log in so they can somehow get remote access to my info. do not fall for it!
