I told him rather firmly that there was nothing amiss with my device, and asked him to kindly remove my number from his list. To my astonishment, he erupted with rage, shouting obscenities and calling me vile names, insisting that I should “listen here, you filthy cow”. It was quite shocking, really. I opted not to return the call; one often wonders if that’s precisely what they desire, perhaps to ensnare you into further charges or harassment.
