Received a call from this number, and a chap from Scotland claimed to be representing a mortgage advice centre. Upon mentioning that we don’t actually have a mortgage, he simply replied, “Oh, right then, cheerio” and ended the call abruptly. The call took place on the 17th of March, 2016, at around 1:25 in the afternoon.

I’ve received calls from this number multiple times before, including one today at one o'clock. Curiosity got the better of me this evening, so I decided to return the call, but to my surprise, all I encountered was a pre-recorded message that simply said 'goodbye'. There was no mention of a company or any pertinent information included. It’s quite unsettling, particularly as I'm listed as Ex Directory and also registered with the Telephone Preference Service. How on earth are they managing to get through? The only thing I can ascertain is that this number has a Blackburn area code.

This morning, I received three calls from this number, and each time, there was chatter happening in the background. The moment I answered and greeted them, the line went dead. I tried doing 1471, only to be met with a sterile recorded message stating no one is around to respond. So frustrating!

I received a call too, and when I picked up, it was a chap from Scotland. Sadly, my signal was rather poor, and we ended up disconnecting. I attempted to return the call, but it went directly to voicemail, where an American woman’s voice informed me, “There’s no one available to take your call.” Quite frustrating, really!

I picked up the call, but to my surprise, it was eerily quiet on the other end. I held on for a bit, hoping for some chatter, but still nothing. Could this be one of those dodgy numbers? It crosses my mind occasionally that these sorts of calls might just be a tactic to see if anyone's in.
