I received a call on my home number today from someone inquiring about my husband using his nickname. They claimed to represent a finance firm, which struck me as rather odd given the familiarity they showed. When I pressed them on why they were so informal, they insisted they had previously spoken to him on his mobile. Yet, he only has one primary mobile number, and he indicated he hadn’t had any communication with this company. Feeling uneasy, I decided to give him a bell to discuss the strange call, and he suspected it might be a scam. Naturally, I alerted the police as it raised quite a few red flags. It’s baffling how they knew both his shortened name and my home number.
