This number rang me a while ago, someone was trying to pitch some kind of security system, but I just hung up straight away. Now, when I called back, it was just a robotic voice saying "goodbye". Bit strange really.

I answered once and there was loads of talking and noises in the background, so I just hung up before they could say anything. Later, I looked up the number on this site. These calls are so annoying, I get tons even though I’m registered with the TPS - like, what’s the use of it all?

My husband got a call from 01245460131 about some kind of emergency alert system that would ring up the emergency services if we were in trouble. The guy on the phone made it sound like it was a Government program. My husband wasn’t sure and ended the call, a bit uneasy about whether it was legit. I told him it sounded like a scam to me and looked up the number here. Seems like other folks have had the same sort of calls.

Some woman rang me from this number, asking if I'd heard about a crime prevention event happening in our area on Thursday and Friday, which is like tomorrow and the next day. Got a call from someone trying to sell home security stuff, said they'd come round for a chat that’d take like half an hour. They promised to leave some info and even a bottle of wine as a thank you for my time. Honestly, it felt a bit creepy? I mean, how do they know my name and address like that? Bit unsettling if you ask me.

Earlier today, I received a call from this number promoting a demo of a monitor alarm system that supposedly alerts the police, fire brigade, and ambulance service in case of an emergency. Frankly, it’s quite disturbing. Individuals who are more susceptible, especially those living alone, could easily be misled into allowing strangers into their homes under the guise of it being a police programme, which is certainly the vibe the caller conveyed.

So a few days ago, I got a phone call from someone claiming they were organising some kind of emergency response. I asked them which company they were with or if they were trying to sell me something, but as soon as I did, they just ended the call. I think it was the same number that rang me again today. This time I used 1471 to see who it was before I picked up, and I made sure to keep talking. Cheers for the heads up about this number!

At 14:09 hours on the 5th of February, 2018, I received a rather unsolicited call from a gentleman named Carl. He claimed to represent a service operating in the SG region, aimed at linking homeowners’ alarm systems directly to emergency services like the police, fire brigade, and ambulance in the event of an emergency. In light of the fact that our number is registered with the Telephone Preference Service, I inquired how he obtained our contact details. Carl expressed his apologies, mentioning that they generally have a protocol in place to prevent such occurrences. He offered to remove my number from their list, which I accepted. Nevertheless, I've taken the precaution of blocking the number on my device as well.

Some bloke called claiming to be an emergency officer from the Home Guard, saying he looked after my neighbourhood. I won't bore you with all the details, but I told him I'd have a word with my son-in-law who's a copper before making any decisions. He was polite about it, said goodbye, and hoped I had a good day.
