I rang the bank straight away and they confirmed no such transactions had happened. Something seemed fishy about this number - the part after the area code had seven digits instead of the usual six. This isn’t the first time scammers have tried this on me; it’s the third time, and now they’re getting clever by making the number look local. If you get a call like this, just don’t engage.
