This number popped up as potentially dodgy, but I decided to pick up anyway, curious about who was on the other end. It turned out to be someone trying to sell me phone and internet services. I declined their pitch, not interested in what they were offering.

They'll make a quick call that rings just once before hanging up. Naturally, you might think it’s something urgent and call back, only to end up connected to a call centre based overseas, like in India or Pakistan, where scammers operate these centres. Honestly, with all the tech we have today, governments should really put a stop to this rubbish.

I picked up and just said hello, they ended the call straight away. Seems like they’re trying to find older people to trick, as that’s the group they go after most. Classic scammer move.
