Turns out it was just your typical boiler cover sales pitch. Reporting this to TPS feels utterly pointless, as they never seem to take any action. What even is the purpose of the TPS, honestly?

Had a chirpy young chap ring me up, trying to sell some boiler cover that supposedly beats the rest. He butchered my name, which was a clear sign he wasn't really on the ball. Not wanting to waste my time, I promptly showed him the door. I’m registered with the Telephone Preference Service, but rather than delve into that with him, I chose to just end the call.

I politely declined her offer, and when I enquired about how she obtained my phone number, she mentioned it was sourced from a "professional data service," though claimed she couldn’t divulge any specifics. After informing her that I’ve been registered with the Telephone Preference Service for a year now, she assured me she would remove my number from their list and promptly ended the call. I've gone ahead and reported the number to the TPS as case 24/513.
