This bloke called claiming he was from the Road Safety folks, telling me I'd been in some sort of crash. When I asked him to tell me the date of the accident, he said it was my job to provide that info because of some "data protection" reason. His accent was super thick and hard to get, sounded Asian. When I suggested he might be trying to scam me, he suddenly acted all annoyed. I just ended the call there and then.

Received a rather unsettling phone call earlier today. They seemed to know both my name and my address, which put me on edge. The caller provided a reference number and assured me that I'd receive another call shortly. In a moment of foolishness, I ended up confirming my date of birth, which now has me quite worried. Somebody, maybe a bloke or a lass, with a thick Asian accent called me up and kept getting my name wrong. They were going on about something to do with fees or banks, mentioning like twenty years or whatever. I could hardly catch a word, so I told them to slow the heck down and speak proper so I could understand. After saying okay, they just cut the line. Definitely not a legit call, likely just some kind of scam or spam.

Got a call from an Asian guy who was kinda hard to follow, said he was a solicitor for the government or something. I told him that’s not a thing, and then he just hung up on me.

This number has called me twice already. The first time, nobody said a word when I picked up. When I tried to look it up, they told me the number didn’t even exist. Then a few days later, it rang again and I actually answered. A guy with an Asian accent said my name, introduced himself as James Smith, and said he was calling from somewhere, then just hung up straight away! I got interested because the area code matched mine, so that’s why I answered in the first place. I won’t be answering it if it calls again though. Pretty sure it was a landline number.

On the morning of 22nd Dec 2017, I got a call at about 8 from 01254249284 on my landline. The person said it was a pre-call about reimbursing bank fees supposedly from the government. They had some of my info already but wanted to check if I had a middle initial. I told them if the government’s gonna refund, they must have my updated info to send any payment, so no need to ask me. The call was cut short after that.

Got a call on 22nd December at about 10.05 from a woman who sounded Asian. I honestly couldn’t catch what she was on about. When I asked where their office was, she mentioned Manchester! I think she said something about a “bank”, but I told her I was lost and didn’t get a word. After a bit, I got the feeling she was just messing about, so I ended the call.

Got a call from this number tonight, but since it’s a second line that only family has, I was pretty sure it was just some random person.
