Got a call from a guy who said he was an Asian tech engineer from BT Openreach, saying my internet router had an issue. He kept going on about how he could actually tell there was a fault. When I called him out, telling him he was just trying to scam me, he wouldn’t stop calling me ‘ma’am’ and kept insisting he was legit. Pretty polite the whole time though. Wondering if this is some new trick they’re using to win people over?

Got a call from a guy saying he was an Openreach engineer, said something was wrong with my internet router. He was pretty persistent, kept calling me ‘ma’am’ even after I told him I knew he was trying to scam me. Seemed polite enough, but I’m wondering if this is a new trick they’re using to get you to trust them?
