My phone showed this number as "possible scam" when they rang me.

Really risky call, I got a call from a very similar number, only the last few digits changed. Make sure you block and report them fast!

Saw I had a missed call from this number but didn’t bother calling back after reading what folks said here. I live far from Blackpool anyway, so figured it was some sort of spam or scam. Went ahead and blocked it right away.

Somebody rang saying they were from Sky, saying I could get a price cut from £49 down to £25. Honestly, that was suspicious - I’d be happy if I even paid £49! I kept talking with him for ages, he asked me for my phone number, like he forgot he was the one ringing me. Then he said they’d send a Sky engineer round that very day to fix an issue we supposedly have. That told me it was a scam straight away - no way an engineer would show up that quick. Eventually, I just hung up and blocked the number.

Someone pretending to be O2 called me, but the thick Indian accent gave it away straight away. You can tell it’s just another scam call coming from some hectic call centre. Best just to block them and report it, don’t answer!

Got a voicemail about dialling the wrong extension, felt like it might’ve been some scam. Definitely seemed dodgy to me.

Some bloke said he was from the "financial advice compliance team" or something like that. When I asked straight if he was trying to scam me, he just cut the call off.

Building on what I said before, watch out because these lot might be recording your voice if you pick up and say anything like hello or yes. Who knows what they do with that recording - they could be pretending to be you to pull off some kind of scam. So honestly, don't even think about calling them back or saying a word. Just to be safe. Damn scammers, always up to no good.

I checked out the company behind the call, Voxbone, and according to Google, it’s all about VoIP - that’s Voice over Internet Protocol calls, which lets people and firms chat worldwide without hassle. So even though the number appeared to be from the UK, it might actually be routed from somewhere else, pretending to be local. Definitely just block it, sounds dodgy. I also found out there was a UK branch but it got dissolved back in 2022, so likely they’re just throwing our numbers around. Total scam, block it for sure.
