6 yearsIt called me a total of five times, but each time it only rang once before hanging up. Odd behaviour, if you ask me!6 yearsSome bloke called Simon kept ringing me up, saying he was from an adverts company or something. Told him I was sick of the calls and that I’d report him if he didn’t stop.Simon6 yearsCommunity Info Services Ltd have been working with local councils publishing magazines for residents for more than 25 years. We produce these on schedule, with funds coming from ads placed by local businesses and groups. Cold calling is part of what we do, but we always stick to direct marketing rules. We've never tricked anyone and out of 2000 calls made each week over all this time, there are only eight comments here. Please don’t mix us up with some of the less honest companies in Blackpool.Community Information Services LtdBlackpool6 yearsI got a call from someone saying they were with the council, working on a newsletter for the Charnwood area. They didn’t say what company they were with, which seems fishy because I've seen loads of dodgy groups do the same. They told me the next edition would cover March through to August, calling it the spring newsletter. But on the official Charnwood council website, it clearly says March to July. That mismatch and the fact they slipped up on who they actually represent makes me think this is sketchy and probably not legit. Definitely something to watch out for.CharnwoodCharnwood Borough Council7 yearsGot a call from someone claiming they were running some kind of ad through the local council and wanted to know who to talk to. I just said we’re not interested in any advertising. We’ve been caught out before by a firm from Blackpool, and since this number’s from Blackpool too, I reckon it's probably the same sort of scam. Our business is down on the south coast, so definitely suspicious.Blackpool7 yearsI just ended the call as soon as I picked up.8 yearsI'm in the same boat - inundated with calls, only to have them cut off abruptly. I've gone ahead and chucked this number onto my rejection list. It's past the five-call mark now! It appears you’re collating quite a number of reports, along with those other tracking services, to lodge a formal complaint about this number.8 yearsGot a call asking for someone called Alani, so I told them they had the wrong person and ended the call. Then they rang me again, not once, but three more times! Proper pest.Alani8 yearsHeads up, got a dodgy call coming from 0 - definitely a scam, watch out!8 yearsWatch out, I just got a dodgy call - total scam!8 yearsGot a call from some local magazine doing a general survey about the area. Felt a bit spammy, just asking about local businesses and stuff. Nothing too serious or urgent though.8 yearsAs soon as I picked up, the call ended straight away.10 yearsI received a call from this number, but as soon as I picked up, the line went dead. Barely half a minute later, my phone rang again. When I answered, I could hear ringing on the other side. A voice introduced themselves as being from CIS and inquired about my location. I explained that they were the ones who had called me first. They speculated it may have been one of their teammates who dialled me and persisted in asking where I was calling from. At that point, I decided to cut the conversation short and told them to save their breath.CIS11 yearsThey keep ringing my phone without let-up. Can’t seem to take a hint and leave me be!11 yearsI received a call from this number, but the caller didn’t leave any message at all. Quite odd, really.Submit Your Own Report (01253 885777)
