O2 rang me and I instantly thought it was some kind of scam.

I got a call from a guy with an Indian accent who claimed he was ringing from O2. I told him I suspected it was a scam, and then he just hung up on me. Felt pretty dodgy to me.

Just got a ring from this number a moment ago. The voice had an Indian accent, which threw me off a bit. The digits looked kinda like the one I was waiting for, so I assumed it was legit. They mentioned a company, but it wasn’t very clear which one. When I told them their number’s flagged as a scam, they said something then the call suddenly dropped. Tried to phone back, but the line was blocked. Pretty dodgy if you ask me.

The call appeared to be from Blackpool, but judging by the accent and all the noise in the background, it felt like it was coming from some call centre in India. They started off by asking how I was doing, but strangely never mentioned my name, which made me suspicious straight away. When I asked who they were and what they wanted, they claimed to be from 02 and said that my number ending in 178 (which is actually mine) was eligible for a 30% discount. I quickly told them it was a scam since it’s my work phone, and ended the call.
