I got a call saying my internet would be disconnected within a day unless I sorted something out. The bloke on the phone had a strong Indian accent and you could hear loads of background noise like a call centre. They asked for my bank info, which felt really dodgy. The number showed up as a UK BT landline but I reckon it could’ve been a fake digital number, probably run from India or somewhere like that.

I received a call from an automated voice claiming that my internet service would be discontinued within the next day. Clearly a fraudulent attempt to obtain my banking information. The individual who answered sounded like an Indian chap and there was a noticeable hubbub of call centre noise in the background. It's quite likely they'll be running this scam out of India, using a UK phone number that appears to be legitimate because of the internet.
