Got a call from some dodgy lot who said they were from this company called Bubble Tide. The guy reckoned they handle cancellations for Oracliaf but wouldn’t say much else about it. Felt pretty suss how he kept pressing me to focus on Bubble Tide though.

Just got a message from that same firm. I replied with Stop to 64640 and they sent me a number to call for assistance. I've now blocked 64640 hoping that stops the nuisance. How on earth do these people get away with it? I'm retired and struggling to get by on my pension, no need for extra expenses like this.

Trouble is, I never actually signed up for it, so I have no clue how they got my phone number. The text says to reply STOP to 64640 to cancel, but it just feels a bit dodgy. I rang the ‘support’ line and found out it’s a mobile help desk managed by a firm named Oraciiaf, located in Cyprus! They assured me my information would be deleted and I wouldn’t be billed (we’ll see about that). The person I spoke to couldn’t explain how Oraciiaf even obtained my details initially. On 24/12/18 at midday, I got the same messages mentioned above, except mine said each alert would cost me £4.50.

Out of nowhere I got a message from megasavers.text saying I’d somehow signed up and they’d charge me £4.50 every month. I never agreed to any of this! How are they allowed to just do that? It’s so frustrating.

Got a message out of the blue saying I’m part of something called mega savers, which I never signed up for. Tried to text STOP to 64640 but my phone with Three won’t let me send that. They’ve blocked it to stop these spam texts but here we are. Honestly, this feels like fraud and should be reported to the cops.

I checked out the message and gave the number a ring, telling them to take me off their list. It’s shocking that companies can just sign you up without your say and then expect you to do all the work to unsubscribe from something you never asked for.

Not long ago, I got caught out by a scammer doing something very similar. It’s a reverse charge scam that completely sidesteps whatever security my provider, 02, had in place. When I contacted them, they flat out refused to take any blame, even though it’s clear my phone contract was compromised. It’s a proper rip-off. You’ve got to try calling their support line - if you’re lucky enough to get through - then bombard them with emails, like 30 or more, just to maybe get a voucher matching the amount they scammed from you. The worst part is, none of these phone companies want to own up or stop this kind of dodgy business at all!
