this number 01253 is the Blackpool area code, so the site guessed it might be from NS&I, you know, the folks who deal with premium bonds. they might have been ringing about a complaint i put in a few weeks back but didn’t bother to leave a voicemail. i called them back three times and every time a recorded message said, “this number does not exist!” strange behaviour, if you ask me.

Brilliant response! I wholeheartedly echo that sentiment. I recently received a call purportedly from my 'insurance firm' regarding my household appliances. It’s quite alarming, so take heed, everyone! One must always exercise caution in these situations!

I got a call on my mobile from a number I didn’t know, so I just ignored it. Then the same number rang my landline. Turns out it was actually from ns&i, following up on something I’d asked about. Elaine on the phone was really helpful, but I’d still say be cautious because scammers somehow manage to get hold of personal details connected to these kind of calls.

this number is linked to ns&i but not their head office, they have one in edinburgh and another one in blackpool, but this number belongs to a different branch (they won't ask you for any payments). The call was scheduled in advance. Here's a proper tip: if this number rings you, double-check your ns&i info is current and have a look at your prize records, although they might give you a ring before that! -))

I just received a call from this Blackpool number, and it turned out to be the NS&I Complaints Department - a call I had been anticipating.
They requested a fair bit of personal information, which I was comfortable providing to NS&I in order to restore my account that had been mistakenly closed. However, it's always wise to be cautious; never divulge personal details to anyone unless you're absolutely sure. Trust no one. If you're at all unsure, I recommend verifying the numbers that have supposedly reached out to you and returning the call from a different phone, not the one they initially contacted you on. When in doubt, keep your cards close to your chest!

I got a call from NS&I, it was actually their back office team returning my call about a complaint I put in about their customer service. They had arranged to ring me back to sort things out.

Not sure if it's just a coincidence, but I've been chatting with ns&i this week about putting some money in, and then today I got two calls from that number. I didn’t pick up either time and there was no voicemail. When I rang ns&i on their official number 0808 500 7007, they said they hadn’t tried to contact me and didn’t know anything about the 01253 793000.
