Got a call from an Asian bloke who said he was checking on nuisance calls. He claimed to be from a firm called The Telephone Guardian. Then he started asking if I'd paid my phone bill, so I just ended the call.

Got a call real early this morning from 01253735175. A bloke with an Indian accent said he was ringing from UK benefits (they’ve tried me before on another line I blocked). He said he wanted to ask a few quick questions, but I just told him no cheers and hung up before blocking the number. When I looked it up, turns out that while 01253 is definitely Blackpool, 0125373 points to somewhere in India! So yeah, didn’t take me long to suss they were dodgy.

Honestly, when are folks gonna realise? Just have an answerphone switched on and get caller ID sorted. If you don’t know the number calling, don’t even bother picking up - let it ring out. And if they leave a message, stay cautious about it. Simple stuff really.
