Right, so for anyone hoping Joe gets done for even more, seems like they’re digging into more past customers he scammed. There was this one woman with a bungalow, and he swindled her out of 103 grand. Then he stuck her stuff in rented vans and some warehouse he leased, but ended up losing it all and just letting her belongings go mouldy and damaged. Sounds like he’s gonna end up getting arrested again while still behind bars, with extra charges tacked on and a longer stint. Good riddance, honestly 🙏

There’s this bloke, Graeme John Putman, and he never seems to get called out. Look him up for yourself. Proper dodgy character. Has been scamming elderly people out of their money for donkey’s years and somehow always gets away with it. He was Joe’s first mate in business. This is ridiculous, you don't get a jail sentence just for doing a poor job. The reason Mr Oliver got nearly 5 years inside is because he scammed his customers, ripping off vulnerable people and not finishing the work he promised. Plus, he used two companies as a front to pull off the fraud, which amounted to about £5 million in losses. The window warranty has nothing to do with this mess - those companies had different directors altogether. Maybe do some proper research before you post nonsense and end up looking daft.

It’s not fair to say it’s always the victims fault, especially when some are elderly and really trust people easily. Often they get roped into thinking they have to sort it immediately or they’ll miss out on better deals. If it was completely their own fault though, why is this person behind bars? That just doesn’t add up.

I’m dealing with something very similar to what you described. Hopefully this nasty person gets hit with even more charges, not just the ones he’s already facing, and ends up with a longer jail term. Also, it’s worrying that windowseal is still showing up as active on Companies House - they ought to shut it down and the police need to step in.

You might want to consider taking Laura Oliver to small claims court to try and recover some of your money. She’s still got connections to the assets that belonged to Toothless Oliver, so there’s a chance you could get something back. Worth a shot really.

You're totally right, I feel daft for trusting all the rubbish he told me needed to be fixed on my house. After losing my husband, he really exploited how vulnerable I was. The mess he and his dodgy crew made was shocking. He kept insisting this or that had to be done or else my house would be dangerous. I finally had to hire a proper local builder to sort out the chaos that Joe Oliver or whatever name he uses and his shoddy workers caused. The builder was horrified by the state my place was left in. That no good man fleeced me out of thousands upon thousands of pounds.

I read in the North Wales paper that the judge decided he’ll do half his time behind bars and the rest on licence. Lancashire trading standards are investigating more people who might have been affected, so fingers crossed he gets nailed for those too.
