I got a call from this number, and they said they were from Monzo bank.

This number has rung me quite a few times before, once with a man claiming he was from Bradford NHS and their A&E, asking about an accident he thought I'd been in. I hadn't heard from them for a while, probably since the last time I answered by pretending to be Pakistani, mimicking what I guessed was the caller's accent. This time the guy said his name was Peter. On the day they called, I’d just been in touch with my GP after not having any contact for ages, and it feels like they only ring when I’ve been in touch with the surgery. I’ve not had any accident or anything like that, and it’s really frustrating that random people seem to have my home phone number.

I just got a ring from some guy pretending to be Matthew, sounded like he had a thick Indian accent. Next time, I think I’ll answer as Sandeep and see how they like that. Honestly, these scammers are the worst kind of people, don’t deserve to be trusted or even spoken to.

Here we go again! After a few quiet days without any calls, I got another one. I asked the caller how badly I was hurt in this supposed "accident" they said I was part of - which I'd never heard about before. When I asked what car I was driving, he couldn’t answer. Same with when and where it supposedly happened, he had no clue. Then he just hung up, so I’m guessing he passed my number to someone else nearby. What cracks me up is how many Asian people these days have really traditional English names. So far, I’ve had calls from people named Philip, John, Steven and even an Andrew!

Had this dodgy insurance call as well, with some guy claiming I was involved in a crash. Absolutely not true. His accent was definitely not English. I just hung up straight away.

I could hear some people chatting quietly in the back. A bloke with a thick accent, not really English, said he was calling from some "accident claims company". I just told him to carry on with his dodgy scheme. He insisted it wasn’t a scam. I went along with it and said, “Alright then, tell me more.” He asked if I was the homeowner and claimed there had been a report of me having an accident in the last couple of years. I told him I was really loving their little game and then the call just cut off.
