Some guy with an unusual accent rang me up saying he was from the government and mentioned something about my boiler. When I asked him to repeat himself, all he said was that he was from the government. I questioned him about how he got my phone number, and his only reply was again claiming to be from the government. I asked a second time about my number, and he just started swearing at me, calling me a mother f***er, then kept going with more rude stuff. What a charming bloke!

They keep ringing me up, saying they’re from some eco grant scheme offering a free boiler replacement. I’ve told them I’m not interested loads of times, yet they just don’t stop. It’s really getting on my nerves.

I got a call from a woman who sounded like she wasn’t from around here, saying there was some kind of government plan to get a new boiler. Thing is, I just got a new one from British Gas not long ago. It’s still pretty new, only a couple of years old. She then started asking what I’d paid for it. I told her she was being a bit too nosy and just ended the call.

On 8/5/20 at about 3.34pm, my home phone rang but I didn’t answer it. As far as I can tell, they haven’t phoned back since then.

I recently received a dodgy phone call regarding my electricity supply. The caller claimed to be from my energy provider and insisted they needed to come out to install a new meter. When pressed for details, they mentioned they were acting on behalf of British Gas, which, quite amusingly, isn’t even my supplier! I found the whole thing rather amusing, had a bit of a chuckle, and promptly ended the call.

Got a call from someone claiming to be from my electricity provider saying they had to install a new meter. When I asked which company, he said British Gas. I wasn’t convinced and called him out on it a few times before telling him off and then blocked the number. Total scam.
