Got a call from Power energy saying they were from EON / British Gas. They asked if we'd already sorted our energy bills renewal and we said yes. Definitely a scam, don't trust them!

Got a call from a woman named Karen Leather, who sounded really pushy and quite forceful, saying she was helping British Gas deal with some backlog because an energy firm called PFP Energy had gone bust. She came across as a bit dodgy, if you ask me. Really happy I looked it up on the internet first and didn’t hand over any personal info.

I got a call from someone saying they were from “the registration office” and acted like they were part of some main electricity company checking details about a fresh lease we supposedly had. At first, I was doubtful and told them we’d already arranged a new energy provider, but she insisted it wasn’t reflected “on the system” and claimed I was on an emergency tariff. It all felt like a dodgy attempt to trick me into buying their services.

Got a call from a company called ‘Ompower’ about my business, even though I've just relocated and am not operating right now. They wanted to know where my business’s commercial lease was, but I don’t actually rent a commercial property. They said they could help reduce my gas and electric costs. When I explained I hadn’t signed any lease, the person sounded a bit lost and insisted they had different info. Seems like just a typical cold call trying to make a sale. I’d definitely advise blocking the number.

They gave me a ring, so I picked up. There was some music playing while I was on hold. I tried calling them back, got a receptionist, but they had no clue what the call was regarding. Best to block these numbers and report them, honestly.

Got a call earlier today from this number, they said they could check my utility bills and maybe sort out a discount because our shop's been shut due to covid. Feels like just a tactic to keep me chatting on the phone. I reckon their real aim is to get me to change suppliers - doubt there’s any real discount coming since if we aren’t open, we’re hardly using any energy! I’ll see what they send in the email. Seems like just another utility middleman to me.

Got a call today from a firm called "Ompower" or something similar, which I guess is supposed to remind you of npower. Annoyingly, they rang my personal mobile even though it's clearly listed on the Telephone Preference Service as a number to avoid cold calls. Loads of calls lately from some company trying to chat about our gas account - which we don’t actually have - and also about our electricity, saying they sorted it out for us six years back, which is totally wrong.
