I've been getting lots of calls early in the mornings, with someone saying they're from an energy company for businesses. It’s all about the utilities for my new business place, and it's becoming a bit much with all these similar calls.

Got a call from Power energy saying they were from EON / British Gas. They asked if we'd already sorted our energy bills renewal and we said yes. Definitely a scam, don't trust them!

Got a call from a woman named Karen Leather, who sounded really pushy and quite forceful, saying she was helping British Gas deal with some backlog because an energy firm called PFP Energy had gone bust. She came across as a bit dodgy, if you ask me. Really happy I looked it up on the internet first and didn’t hand over any personal info.

I got a call from someone saying they were from “the registration office” and acted like they were part of some main electricity company checking details about a fresh lease we supposedly had. At first, I was doubtful and told them we’d already arranged a new energy provider, but she insisted it wasn’t reflected “on the system” and claimed I was on an emergency tariff. It all felt like a dodgy attempt to trick me into buying their services.

They only gave me a PO Box for the company address, no actual details on the business itself. I’ve been digging through the net and social media trying to find any leads on who they really are, but no luck so far.

I received a call today purportedly from 'Ompower' about my business. The thing is, I’ve only just relocated, and I’m not operating at the moment. They asked where I had secured a commercial lease, but I don’t even have one. They claimed they could help lower my gas and electricity costs. When I mentioned that I haven't rented any commercial space, the caller seemed rather puzzled and insisted he had other details. It’s quite clear it was a cold calling attempt trying to lure me into signing up for something. In my opinion, best to just block this number altogether.

I received a call from this number and decided to pick up. I was greeted with hold music, which was rather peculiar. After they rang off, I called back and was connected to a receptionist who was completely clueless about the purpose of the call. I’d recommend blocking this number and reporting it for good measure.

Received a ring today from this number, claiming they could analyse my utility consumption and maybe offer a discount because of the pandemic and our closure. It feels like yet another ploy to engage me in conversation. I suspect they’re probably angling for me to switch providers, rather than actually providing any meaningful reduction, seeing as there’s no energy being consumed while we’re shut! I'll keep my eyes peeled for any follow-up email. Just another broker trying their luck, if you ask me.

I’ve received yet another unsolicited call on my mobile from a firm called “Ompower” - quite the cheeky name, isn’t it, as it closely resembles npower? It’s rather infuriating since my number is registered with the Telephone Preference Service, clearly stating it shouldn’t be contacted for marketing purposes. Their reason for interrupting my day? They fancied a chat about reviewing my electricity account. How very odd.

I'm absolutely baffled by the sheer number of calls we've been receiving lately regarding our energy contracts. This week alone, I’ve lost count, but it must be around 50. The latest bunch insists on discussing our gas account, which we’ve never held, and our electricity account, which they absurdly claim was set up on our behalf six years ago - not a chance! What on earth is going on? It’s like they won't take no for an answer!
